June 2006 - Hoad Bulk Services Triples

Cambuslang BC Invitation Triples took place this year (June 2006) which was good news as previous years were cancelled due to lack of entries. We at Hoad Bulk Services were delighted to provide sponsorship and doubly delighted to attend present the prize money.

A scorcher of a day added to the atmosphere created by the thirty-six players and their supporters.
After five games the two section winners and runners-up gave us semi-finals between Croftfoot BC v Troon Portland and Farme BC v Blantyre Miners BC.

The final between Croftfoot BC & Blantyre Miners BC. produced a cracker of a match, the score was 6 all going into the last end which Croftfoot BC skipped by Jim Booth won.  A fabulous day out.

Jimmy Hoad Memorial Triples

Stewart's Dad, Jimmy Hoad died in March 2008 ( see video tribute ) and it was agreed that his sponsored triples tournament would be renamed in memory of his Dad. It was lovely to see Jimmy's son Stewart, his daughter Glenda and their families all at this inaugural tournament which was superbly supported by friends and bowlers from within and outwith the area. Won this year by Burnbank Hamilton BC (Robert Taggart, David Cook, Robert Gallagher skip)
